A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America with over 20 years in the restaurant business, Chef Rob Hodes, founder and owner of KD Poppa’s, can do it all. KD Poppa’s is a full service specialty soup and catering business created for all facets of the food industry. Recently, Valarie Yaffe joined KD Poppa’s as the Catering Director. After several years on both the right and left coasts, she stands with over 20 years of food service, advertising and marketing.
Rob and Valarie are dedicated to the local community and have created a business model whose purpose is to combine the pleasures of food with the greatness of giving back to the community. For every catering order taken, 5% of the proceeds go back to local charity.
KD Poppa’s is a privately owned local business, and has an affiliation with the “Haven House” which houses families of children who come to St. Louis for its outstanding hospitals. By using the kitchen facilities at Haven House, KD Poppa’s has the resources available to create culinary delights sure to please the masses.
KD Poppa's bill of fare comes from natural ingredients. All meats, seafood, produce; herbs, spices and dairy products are locally grown and produced whenever possible. Deliveries are from the shortest distances available and with the utmost care. Everything is closely inspected and products not meeting KD Poppa’s high standards are rejected. This insures the “fresh from the farm” quality which KD Poppa's is known for. No added preservatives or MSG is used.
